exciting addition to RB Soap Company
RB Soap Company's Dead Sea Bath Salts are wonderful mixes of dead sea salt, butters, oils, essential oils, and dried herbs/flowers/powders! These are also all-natural and handmade (although we can't make dead sea salt!) and contain no chemicals like our soaps! Our Dead Sea Salt comes STRAIGHT from Israel, in Tel Aviv, so you can be sure our product is not a knock-off. These are not your typical Epsom bath salts from the drugstore either! Each lovely bag of Sea Salts is 12 oz. (enough for 10-12 baths), and many of the same scents found in our soaps will be available (like Lavender Vanilla, Chamomile and Rosewater, etc...). You pay only $5.25 for one bag, and every bag is decorated with a beautiful ribbon and the signature RB Label. Talk about melting away stress, pain, muscle aches, etc... Just light some candles and throw a scoop or two in a hot bath. You're going to love these! (Most of the different types of bath salts will be posted on our etsy store by the end of this week...however, stay tuned for more scents to be added each week!)
and here is our FAQ of the week:
Why use handmade soap and not store-bought soaps/body washes/shower gels?
Soap bought at the grocery/drugstore pales in comparison to natural, handmade soap. Even soaps like Dove, which claim to have 1/4 moisterizing cream, and no soap scum left on the tub (which isn't possible...even handmade soap leaves scum on tile), are still made with chemicals, detergents, surfactants, and other fillers that can seriously damage skin. Most of the chemicals and detergents found in store-bought soaps actually make irritated skin worse, including severe dry skin, eczema, psoriasis, rosacia, and other rashes (ever wonder why dermotologists can charge so much?). Store-bought soap is also mass-produced (we're talking 300,000 lbs. of soap at one time), which means that little to no attention is given to detail.
Ingredients like Sodium Laurel/Laureth Sulfate, Propylene Glycol, Methyl Parabens, etc..., are toxic chemicals found in almost every bath/body product on the market (even the expensive ones, like The Body Shop and others)! What makes these ingredients so bad is that they have been linked to certain types of cancers, liver disease, depression, and of course every skin problem there is. Much of these chemicals are fatal! Why? Because these chemicals are the SAME ones used in oven cleaner, garage floor cleaners, car engine oils (like WD-40), dishwashing detergent, just to mention a few (don't believe us? check this out from the experts: http://www.susanjeske.com/clients/82887/File/3-The%20Toxic%20Twelve%20List.doc). We bet that if you go grab your bottles of shampoo, body wash, etc... you'll find that almost all of these chemicals are listed in the ingredients! Scary thoughts!!!
Our soaps are made with the purest oils and ingredients, and we pay attention to every detail. We use absolutely no colorants, detergents, sulfactants, chemicals, synthetic/fake fragrances, or preservatives. We're also protecting the environment in the meantime (sending those chemicals down the drain also causes harm to plant and wildlife growing in/near rivers, ponds, and lakes). Making handmade soap is time-consuming and labor-intensive process. We make ours in small batches (usually 3-4.5 lbs at a time), and each batch is measured, mixed, scented, poured, and wrapped by hand.
You can be sure that you're getting the best when you use our soaps! We don't want you to have to pay hundreds of dollars for a dermotologist when the only thing wrong is using bad body products. We want you to be healthy! We pour our love and attention into every soap we make, and we hold to a Higher standard than other companies as well because we are Christian-based. PLUS, we are so sure that you will love our soap, we have a "no skin scum" guarantee...our policy is that if you are unhappy with your soap and your skin doesn't improve after 7 days of use, then we will give you your money back, no questions asked!
Try RB's soaps and bath products today...you may not only save your skin, but you may save your life as well!

new soaps for April!
Lemon Poppy-seed
(This soap smells and looks exactly like those lemon poppy-seed muffins that Mama used to make! With lemon essential oil, pure vanilla, and organic poppy-seeds, it is uplifting, relaxing, and exfoliating all at the same time. It smells good enough to eat, but works wonders on skin! So far, one of our home-town customers said that she loves to use it as a face wash in the morning because the poppy-seeds get rid of dead/flaky skin, and the lemony fragrance wakes her up!)
AND
White Tea and Ginger!!!
(Many years ago, a big-name body product company came out with a White Tea and Ginger fragrance that was discontinued after several months. Our White Tea and Ginger is totally different, but smells beautiful just the same. We have used White Tea Leaf Extract and Ginger Essential Oil to make sure this soap is done the all-natural way. However, it has a very clean, grassy/floral smell that doesn't compare to the other types of WT&G bath and body items on the market! You're going to love this one if you like anything like smells like freshly-cut grass after a rain and daffodils waving in the wind!)
We think that these soaps are fantastic, so head on over to our Etsy store (click on the module to your left to get there directly) and order 1 of each today. You won't be dissappointed!
Also, here is our FAQ of the week:
How do you make your soap???
Although there are several different methods of soap making, our method, which is referred to as cold process soap making, is one of the oldest and most tried and true methods in use. This is the type of soap that Grandma used to make on her kitchen stove; yet we have "modernized and moisterized" our version of soap, so that it doesn't compare to regular soaps found in drug-stores.
To understand the cold process soap making method, you must first understand what soap actually is. Chemically speaking, soap is a salt. An acid and a base react with one another and are neutralized to form a salt or soap. A more basic explanation is: oils or fats combine with Sodium Hydroxide or “Lye” in a process called saponification to produce soap. LYE you say? Doesn't that burn your skin? Well, in its purest form, yes (which is why we have to be extra careful and gentle when making our soaps); however, lye changes the chemical make-up of oil, so that oil and water can blend together and become soap. You can't have soap without the chemical reaction that lye produces. But don't worry! The lye is transformed in the soapmaking process. There is absolutely no chemical lye left over in any of our handmade soaps.
Our soap making process begins with purified mineral water and lye combined in one container and set aside to cool, as the mixture will get quite hot. In another container, various plant oils are combined and heated gently until they are melted. When both combinations reach the predetermined/matching temperature they are combined into one container. The new mixture is stirred until it is thoroughly blended together.
A thickening or ‘tracing’ will occur and this is when it is ready to pour into a large rectangular mold. Other oils are added, as well as special ingredients (like flowers, nuts, berries, etc...), and the soap sits for several days to weeks in order to cure (harden). Finally, we are left with beautiful bars of soap after hand-cutting that you are sure to love!

Why use all-natural skin care products??? Here's a GREAT article to check out:
Former Miss America Susan Jeske was severely ill for several months before visiting a holistic doctor, who told her that the products she was using on her scalp and skin were greatly affecting her overall health. Susan began to research the harmful effects of products found in drug-store shampoos, soaps, and even cosmetics. She has put together a "Toxic Twelve List" of harmful chemicals for you to download for free here:
http://www.susanjeske.com/clients/82887/File/3-The%20Toxic%20Twelve%20List.doc
Most of the chemicals in this list found in drug-store bath and beauty products are also found in regular household cleaners and products, like dishwashing liquid, oven cleaner, anti-freeze, garage floor clearner, among others, many of which have been linked to diseases like cancer! ...Just one more reason why using all-natural products, like RB's soaps, may save your skin and your life!
Thanks for stopping by!
More information about our soaps and other products will be coming soon, including FAQ's, upcoming events, new skin-care essentials, and a chance for YOU to vote on what you'd like to see next from RB!!!
